The management committee shall counsel and assist the President in conduction the affairs of the Association. It shall also advise the Board in setting goals and policies for the Association.

LABOUR RELATIONS
This Committee shall be responsible for all matters related to labour in accordance with the current Union agreement and the labour relations act of the association is prepared to negotiate on behalf of all its members and any other contractor signatory to International Smart Local Union N0. 285

FINANCE
This committee shall be responsible for advising the Board of Directors on matters relating to income and expenditures. It shall be responsible for preparation of financial reports and budgets as they are required.

BENEFIT TRUST
The Benefit Trust Committee is made up of Management and Union Trustees. The function of this group is to oversee the investment portfolio for the Pension and Health and Welfare Trusts to ensure that each employee receives health benefits and pension income at retirement as promised in the trust documents

TRAINING TRUST
The Union and Management Trustees are responsible for providing the facility, equipment, tools and materials necessary for our apprentices in order to carry out their sheet metal training etc., as required by the Night School and Trade School curriculum. To achieve this task, the Trustees have revenue contributions of $0.35 per man hour.

EDUCATION & TRAINING (LAC)
This is a joint management-union committee responsible for ensuring that our apprentices complete all of the mandatory education and training programs for the trade, which are provided through night school and trade school courses.

INDUSTRY RELATIONS
The Committee shall be responsible for organizing the annual Association Golf Tournaments and any other charitable event supported by the Association.

GRIEVANCE
This committee shall be responsible for reviewing and grievance brought o any member contractor by Smart Local Union No. 285. It shall ensure that a fair impartial decision is reached concerning all parties.

MARKETING
The Committee shall be responsible for the sole purpose as to promote the association and its members. They shall be responsible for marking material and campaigns which shall be presented to the Board of Directors for approval.
